External Competitions

Leeds Chess Association League Chess — Wednesday Evenings

We operate 4 teams in the Leeds Evening League — Alwoodley A, B, C and D.

• The A team play in Division 1
• B team in Division 2
• C and D teams in Division 3

Each team has 5 players

We also run one team in the Leeds Mini League (3 players per team) and 3 teams in the Leeds Rapidplay League (3 players per team).

The Leeds League Arjay knockout competition features 4 of our teams (3 players per team).

Leeds Chess Association Individual Competitions

Two individual competitions are held across 5 rounds:

• The Ellis Trophy — open to all players
• The Appleby Trophy — for those graded below 1700

Yorkshire League — Saturday Afternoons

We have joined forces with Leeds Chess Club, The University and Leeds Juniors to form 5 Leeds teams across 4 divisions of the Yorkshire League. Each team has 8 players.
